Zenith May Lindamood, of Eureka, died on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka at the age of 93.

She was born on May 3, 1918, in Norton, Kansas, the daughter of James and Lillie (Wynkoop) Fowler. She was raised in Norton and attended local schools. Later she attended the University of Kansas, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in education. She taught school in Quincy.

On November 27, 1941, Zenith was united in marriage to Delbert K. Lindamood in El Dorado. They made their home in Quincy. Zenith continued to teach school at Quincy, and also at Neal, Hamilton, and Eureka. She retired in 1972. Delbert preceded her in death on June 9, 2002.

Zenith was a member of the Sorosis Club, Greenwood County Cattlewomen, the Greenwood County Historical Society, and the Southeast Kansas Regional Library Association.

She is survived by two children, son, James Lindamood of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and one daughter, Barbara Robison Nicholas of El Dorado; four grandchildren; and twelve and a half great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Friday, December 30, 2011, at Quincy Cemetery. Visitation hours are from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., Friday, at the Greenwood County Historical Society Museum.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Greenwood County Historical Society Museum. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
