William R. Gilmore of Eureka, died on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Via-Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita at the age of 65.

He was born on February 4, 1945 in Independence, Kansas the son of Cecil L. and Geraldine E. (Keath) Gilmore. Bill attended schools throughout, Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana moving with his dad’s job. After graduation Bill became an auto mechanic working for various car dealerships in Illinois. He moved to Eureka in 1988 and retired in 1991. He loved to play pool and hunt and fish.

On June 26, 1971 he was united in marriage to Nancy Kroschel in Palatine, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife of the home, son, Joseph W. Gilmore of Emporia, Kansas; four grandchildren; his parents, Cecil and Geraldine Gilmore of Eureka; brother, Charles L. Gilmore of Augusta and sister, Karen Stonebraker of New Castle, Oklahoma.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 28, 2010 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Hunter officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established in his name to the Blake Brown Feck Benefit Fund which may be sent in care of the funeral home at Koup Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045.
