William Valentine Everly, Jr.
William Valentine Everly, Jr. of Eureka, passed from this life to be with our Lord Jesus on Saturday, February 8, 2014, surrounded by family, at the Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 78.
He was born on June 12, 1935, in the small oil community of Seeley, southwest of Madison, the third child of William Valentine, Sr., and Iola Jane Mead. He was raised in the Hamilton\Eureka area and attended Hamilton schools. Later he worked in the oil fields and painted oil field equipment for many years. He lived in El Dorado where he repaired small engines and painted, before retiring to Lebo in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi F. Everly; daughter, Patsy Lee of Wichita; son, Billy Everly of Augusta; four grandchildren: William Liggett, Ashley Everly, Wyatt Everly, and Ryan Griffin; five great-grandchilren; brother, Wayne, Sr., and wife, Voleta Everly of Sheldon, Missouri; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret and Catherine; and a grandson, Jesse Ray Everly.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Janesville Cemetery, Hamilton. Visitation hours are from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Kansas Arthritis Foundation. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
