Joyce Richardson of Eureka, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 74.
She was born on August 27, 1939, in Smithville, Arkansas the daughter of Joe and Ina (Dennis) Elliott. Joyce was raised in Eureka and attended local school graduating from Eureka High School. After her schooling, she worked at various banks before retiring from Cox Communication in Augusta.
On May 7, 1964, she was united in marriage to Melvin Lee Richardson in Eureka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2009.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Cristy Howard of Eureka; stepsons, Kevin Hensley of Thousand Oaks, California; and Brent Hensley of Encinitas, California; two grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; and one sister, Judy Jordan of Arkansas City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Wilbur.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor John Craighead of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Jefferson Street Baptist Church Youth Group. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
