Wesley Earl Davis, of Eureka, Kansas, died at his residence on Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at the age of 45.
He was born in Kitzigen, Germany on March 19, 1957, the son of Fern Kirby and Joan (Spaulding) Davis. He was raised in Enterprise, Alabama and graduated from Enterprise High School with the class of 1976. After his schooling he worked various jobs in the Enterprise area until March 3, 1982, when entered the United States Army. Over the next twenty years he served his country with dignity and honor, retiring on March 3, 2002, with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
On July 1, 1989, Wesley was united in marriage to Tamara E. Henderson in Manhattan, Kansas. They moved throughout the United States and Europe with his military career, and were blessed with two sons, Justin and Patrick.
He is survived by his wife, Tamara and two sons, Justin Davis and Patrick Davis all of the home, one sister, Patricia Morgan of West Union, South Carolina, and his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Karen Henderson of Hamilton, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 17, 2003, at Christ Lutheran Church in Eureka, with Father Larry Valentine of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Emporia officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials have been established in his name to the American Cancer Society and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of the Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
