Virginia Ruth Brown
January 12, 1944 — February 27, 2005
Virginia Ruth Brown, of Eureka, died Sunday, February 27, 2005, at the Greenwood County Hospital at the age of 61.
She was born in rural Greenwood County, Kansas on January 12, 1944, the daughter of Orval Charles and Minnie Daisy (Ely) Phillips. She was raised in Greenwood County and attended rural schools.
In the early 1960’s Virginia was united in marriage to Earl Michael. He preceded her in death. She then married Tom Brown. He also preceded her in death. Virginia was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, William “Willi” Michael of Eureka, four grandchildren, two brothers, William H. Phillips of Eureka, and Elwin Phillips of Chanute, and four sisters, Minnie M. Millsap of Neodesha, Betty L. Widman of Joplin, Missouri, Lula Mae Day of Pasadena, Texas, and Jane Johnson of Eureka. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Lena Valley Cemetery near Lamont.
