Victor C. Delpine of Eureka, died on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 80.
He was born on April 11, 1942, in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of Victor Cooley, Sr., and Marguerite Cecelia (Gallagher) Delepine. He served in the United States Navy first followed by the U.S. Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge in 1965.
On May 21, 1983, Vic was united in marriage to Dorothy Darlene (Rice) Ward in Eureka. He managed several sewing factories including the Signature Factory in Eureka as well as in Yates Center, Manhattan, and Blue Springs, Missouri. After his first retirement he began working at the Greenwood County Courthouse doing maintenance and security.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eureka and the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Leo Kelty Council 7291.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of the home; step-son, Nick and wife, Brenda Ward of Neal; two step-grandchildren, Tara Hughes and Ryan Hughes; and three step-great-grandchildren, Karlie, Hagen, and Kaden; seven siblings: Danny of Washington; Mike of Japan; Mary of Washington; Rodger of Washington; Janee of the Gourge; John of Texas; and Tammy of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings, Cecelia and Judy.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Eureka with Fr. Nicholaus Jurgensmeyer officiating. Rosary recitation will begin at 10:30 A.M. Cremation has been effected.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to the Greenwood County Hospital Foundation.
