Vicky Jo Meadows

Vicky Jo Meadows, of Toronto, died on Friday, February 8, 2008, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, at the age of 53.
She was born on January 19, 1955, in Eureka, the daughter of Loren and Shirley (McMillian) Gulick. She was raised in Eureka and attended local schools. At the end of her sophomore year, she was united in marriage to Howard “Bud” Meadows on July 23, 1972, in Neal. They made their home in Emporia for 25 years, where Vicky was a homemaker, and employed by IBP.
Vicky and family then moved to Toronto where she owned and operated Vicki’s Kitchen until 2006, she closed the kitchen to spend time with her family and precious grandchildren. Vicki made every moment special while spending quality time with the grandkids, some of their favorite things to do included loading up in the wagon to go for a ride and having picnics in all different places. Their favorite stops were at Dee’s chicken coup, visiting Granny Gulick and other neighbors in town. She also took the grandchildren often out to Toronto lake to play at the park. Her love for her children was unconditional. She and Bud loved going on Harley rides and looked forward to their nightly coffee runs. She enjoyed spending time with family on vacations in Florida, and camping trips.
Vicky is survived by her husband, Bud; two daughters, Suzan Meadows of Toronto, and Shelly Meadows of Toronto; son-in-law, Kody Ashlock of Toronto; parents, Loren and Shirley Gulick of Toronto; four grandchildren, Izzy, Reily, Koby, and Hagen; five brothers, Ron E. Gulick, Tim Gulick, Cotton Gulick, Chop Gulick, and Albert Gulick, all of Eureka; and one sister, Cindy McCoy of Neal. She was preceded in death by one son, Jason.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Neal Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
