Sylvia May Sattler, of Wichita, died on Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Medicalodge in Eureka at the age of 97.
She was born on August 4, 1907, near Virgil, Kansas, the daughter of Fred M. and Sadie M. (Sharp) Ashlock. She was raised in the Virgil area, and graduated from Quincy High School. After graduation, she was united in marriage to Preston Sattler. The family made their home in Madison. Later they moved to El Dorado. After Preston’s death she moved to Wichita.
Sylvia was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two brothers, Freddie and James Ashlock both of Virgil; two sisters, Goldie Cross and Dorothy Denchfield both of Neal, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Bonnie Jean and Barbara Louise; four brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Neal United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Neal Cemetery.
