Sue Ann Grundy, of Eureka, died at her home on Monday, November 11, 2002, at the age of 52.
She was born on March 12, 1950, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Willie and Norma Jean (McGlaughlin) Ervin. Sue Ann graduated from Howard High School in Howard, Kansas and the School of Nursing in Kansas City. After her schooling she taught in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for one year.
On July 19, 1969 she was united in marriage to Norman Grundy. They made their home west of Climax, Kansas.
Sue Ann worked for Severy State Bank/Home Bank and Trust in Severy, Kansas for sixteen years. She was the co-owner of Bluestem Lodge of Eureka and S & N Propane of Big Cabin, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Severy Methodist Church and had served on the Eureka School Board for six years, two of which she was president.
She is survived by her husband, Norman, of the home, son, Daniel Grundy of Eureka, daughter, Lisa Grundy of Emporia, mother Jean Ervin of Severy, sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Earnie Chaffain of Hartford, Kansas, brothers and sisters-in-law, Rockie and Phyllis Ervin of Severy, Randy and Nadene Ervin of Chanute, Rusty and Donna Ervin of Waverly, and Ronnie and Debbie Ervin of Eureka, brother-in-law, Ron Grundy of Eureka, sister-in-law Jeleane Osborn and husband Jim of Grand Lake, Oklahoma, and twenty seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2002, at the Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka, with Reverend Gary Parsons of the Moline United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
