Stephen Allen Taylor

Stephen Allen Taylor, of Eureka, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, Kansas, at the age of 70.
Stephen was born August 18, 1952, in Miami, Florida, the son of William Balfour and Margaret Dene Striker. He was raised in Florida and attended local schools. Following graduation, Stephen enlisted in the Navy, where he served more than 20 years, with dignity and honor. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as an investigator for the Portland, Oregon District Attorney. He then retired to Eureka, Kansas where he was the City of Eureka Code Enforcement Officer. He later went to work at Gates in Iola, Kansas before finally retiring for good. Stephen liked to bowl and took several motorcycle trips with Janet.
He was married to Sally, and to this union two daughters were born, Robyn and Leandra. He was later united in marriage to Janet Grieve in 2020.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Janet Taylor of Abilene, Kansas; daughters, Robyn Bloomer and Leandra Raymond, both of Gill, Massachusetts; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; two siblings: Christopher West of Apple Valley, California, and Sharon West of Eureka, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service is planned. Cremation has been effected. The family requests that memorials be made to VFW Post #2712.
