Sharron Ilene “Effie” (Soule) Urton of Eureka, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, at the age of 85.

She was born on June 26, 1936, in Eureka, the daughter of Freeman Wilber and Sarah Emma (Cronk) Soule. She was raised in Eureka and attended local schools, graduating from Eureka High School. On January 17, 1956, Sharron was united in marriage to Edward “Earl” Urton in Yates Center. They made their home in Eureka where she was a homemaker and stay at home mother to their two children. Sharron and Earl were one day short of celebrating 66 years together.

Traveling for vacation, camping, and rock hunting were things Sharron truly enjoyed. She was known for her famous date roll that she made every holiday season, and for her guitar playing. She mowed her yard weekly and was once voted “Best Yard in Eureka.”

She is survived by her husband Earl, of the home; son, Bill and wife, Micki Urton of Rose Hill; daughter, Teresa and husband, Russ DeCoursey of Charlotte, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren: Melissa and husband, David Scribner; Renee and husband, Nathan Powers; Bridgette and husband, Jason Cauthen; Brian and wife, Mary Urton; and Aaron and wife, Bekah Hynick; 11 great-grandchildren: Laura, Emily, and Jacob Scribner; Dallin, Ellie, and Noah Powers; Delaney Urton; Gabrielle Cauthen; and Jackson, Ruby, and Cole Hynick; and four siblings: Joan Talkington of Hamilton; Thedda Olson of Eureka; Karen and husband, John Nordmeyer of Eureka; and Dick and wife, Patricia Soule of Eureka. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Megan Leigh DeCoursey; grandson, Bryce Michael Urton; and 11 siblings: Bertha Erickson, Betty Uhl, Eleanor Jacoby, Phyllis Enos, Susan Thole, Merle Soule, Carol Soule, Jerry Soule, Bill Soule, Sandra Soule, and Florence Sellers.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Economy Cemetery, El Dorado, with Mr. David Scribner officiating. Visitation hours are set from 5 – 7 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Masks should be worn and social distancing observed.
