Sharon Kaye Carroll, of Eureka, died on Monday, November 21, 2005 at Newman Regional Health, in Emporia, at the age of 60.
She was born on March 27, 1945, in Sterling, the daughter of James W. and Alma V. (Stricklin) Hendricks. She was raised in Virgil, and graduated from Virgil High School. After high school, she operated her own salon, Carroll’s Beauty Barn, in Eureka. Later she worked as a dispatcher at the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Department.
She was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Jeff Denner of Wichita; one daughter, Renae Patterson and husband, Tom of Fort Lupton, Colorado; four brothers, Merel Hendricks and wife, Marilyn of Rim Rock, Arizona; Jim Hendricks and wife, Judy of Durango, Colorado; Tracy Hendricks and wife, Carolyn of Eureka; and Kenneth Hendricks and wife, Ruth of Eureka; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Greenwood Cemetery, with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Cremation has been effected.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Jefferson Street Baptist Church, or Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
