Shannon Reynolds of Severy, died on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at her home, in Severy, at the age of 52.

She was born on June 9, 1970, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Donna Kay (Overman) Kelley. She was raised in Iowa and later Kansas attending school in Madison and Eureka. On April 2, 1988, Shannon was united in marriage to James Reynolds in Eureka. They made their home in Oklahoma before returning to Eureka in the late 90s. When her children were in school, she loved to volunteer in the classroom to further their education. She had a drive for education and was a voracious reader. She taught herself to crochet and was often making things for the family.

As the children left home, all her time went to being a grandmother. She was always there to do crafts and baking with her grandchildren and stayed involved with everything they did. She later went to work at Flint Oak first as a dishwasher and then as a housekeeper.

She is survived by her children, Amanda and husband, Luis Sanchez of Eureka; Jakop Reynolds of Eureka; and Erika and husband, Broker Whittaker of Severy; her companion, David Manion of Severy; five grandchildren: Aven Sanchez, Kinlee Sanchez, Scarlett Whittaker, Forest Whittaker, Aspen Whittaker; and five siblings: Kevin and wife, Connie Kelley of Virgil; Brett Drake of Omaha, Nebraska; DeeDee Thompson of Florence, South Carolina; Jody Motte of Holton, Kansas; and Robin and husband, Waylon Stitt of Eureka. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Robert & Sue Kelley; mother, Donna Kay Brewer; stepfather, Gary Lee Brewer who played an important role in Shannon’s upbringing; daughter, Natasha Reynolds; and brother, Andrew Dale Brewer.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Mr. Judd Everitt officiating. Cremation has been effected. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, PO Box 595, Eureka KS 67045, which is overseeing arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family online, at koupfunerals.com.
