Rosalie P. (Storey) Brenton of Eureka, Kansas, passed away on September 2, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years of age.

Rosalie was born January 22, 1932, at Lamont, the daughter of William H. and Millie M. (French) Storey. She was raised in Hartford, Kansas and attended Hartford schools and graduated with the class of 1949. On March 7, 1952, she was united in marriage to George W. Brenton in El Dorado, Kansas. During their 52 years of marriage they lived in Eureka, Reece, and El Dorado. Rosalie worked several years as a bank teller in El Dorado and was a racing secretary at Eureka Downs. She enjoyed cooking and entering her prized baking at the Greenwood County Fair. She always looked forward to the annual Storey-French family reunion, which she and George started in the early 1970’s. Rosalie was a member of the Eureka Christian & Congregational Church, where she served on committees and enjoyed her church family.

She is survived by her dear friend, Kenneth Harlan of Emporia; cousin, Sarah McAbee; children, Mike and wife, Jackie Brenton of El Dorado; Marietta Abplanalp and husband, Don McAllister of Potwin; Marty Brenton of Reece; and Melodee and husband, Larry Johnson of Owasso, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, Jayme and husband, Josh Vail; Adam and wife, Sara Brenton; Michelle and husband, Josh Mantooth; Kyle Abplanalp; Ryan and wife, Rebecca Abplanalp; Marc Abplanalp; Michael and wife, Cassie McAllister; Tyson and wife, Emily Brenton; Shelly and husband, Justin Decker; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; four brothers, James, Bill, Owen, and John Storey; eight sisters, Louise Christy, LaVerne Miller, Margaret Boan, Ellen Kuertzel, Ruth Storey, Ester Storey, Edith Musch, and Beulah Stine.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the Christian & Congregational Church in Eureka with Pastor Bob Robison of the First Christian Church of Madison officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends beginning at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, at the church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Rosalie’s name to the Christian & Congregational Church, or Eureka Home Health.
