Ronald Eugene Wilson, of Eureka, died at his residence on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at the age of 60.

He was born on November 1, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Bertram L. and Marion L. (Hoisington) Wilson. He was raised in Wichita and California. After his schooling, he entered the United States Army and served his country with honor and dignity in Vietnam. He then began a long career as a Drop Hammer Operator for Quality Manufacturing Company in Wichita. In the mid 1980’s he became disabled and was forced to retire.

On February 27, 1981, Ronald was united in marriage to Catherine Riddle in Wichita. The family moved to Eureka in 1993.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Eureka.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine of the home; one son, Michael Wilson and one daughter, Constance Baker both of Eureka; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Marion Trimble of Wichita; five brothers, Roger Wilson of Wichita, Dennis Wilson of Chicago, Bertram Wilson of Wichita, Charles Fillpot and Marion Fillpot both of Atlanta, Georgia; and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, one son, Homer Wilson, three daughters, Jennifer Wilson, Rhonda Wilson, and Mollie Wilson, one brother, and one sister.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at Koup Family Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established in his name to Greenwood County Home Health Care and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, Kansas 67045.
