Roger Dean Wallace of Eureka, died on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 79.
He was born on August 10, 1939, in Eureka, Kansas, the son of Dee Mott, Jr. and Erma Elvira (Porter) Wallace. He was raised in Eureka and graduated from local schools. He then later attended Kansas State University and Emporia State University. In the late 1960’s Roger was united in marriage to Carolyn Odell. To this union, one son was born. This marriage later ended in divorce.
Roger worked at the refinery in El Dorado. In all, he worked there nearly forty years. On August 16, 1977, Roger was united in marriage to Debbie Walford. To this union, one son was born. This marriage later ended in divorce.
He was a member of the Christian & Congregational Church of Eureka and the Midian Shrine.
He is survived by his sons, Ryan Wallace of Colorado; and Bill Wallace of Eureka; four grandchildren: Courtney Chanine, Bailee Wallace, Jerzi Wallace, and London Wallace; and his sister, Deanna Born of Los Olivos, California. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor Jimmy Harrington officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka. Visitation hours are set from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or to the Greenwood County 4-H Foundation.
