Robert Allen “Bob” Wyckoff, of Quincy, died on Saturday, February 1, 2003, at Via Christi-St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 77.
He was born on July 25, 1925, in Marland, Oklahoma, the son of Herbert and Maude (Ellis) Wyckoff. He was raised in Marland and attended the Three Sands rural school. After his schooling he began his career as a farmer and rancher in Kay County, Oklahoma. At the onset of World War II, Bob entered the United States Army and served his country with dignity and honor.
On May 5, 1948, Bob was united in marriage to Velta Malins in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. They made their home in rural Tonkawa where he continued farming. In 1951 the family moved to rural Quincy, Kansas and Bob farmed and ranched in that area until his death.
He was a member of the Toronto American Legion Post #325, the Woodson Masonic Lodge #121 A.F. & A.M., and the Order of the Eastern Star, Golden Star Chapter #173.
He is survived by his wife, Velta of the home, three sons, David Wyckoff of Eureka, Allen Wyckoff of Quincy, and Ronald Wyckoff of Phillipsburg, one daughter, Joan Dalvine of Wewoka, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, two brothers Erwin Wyckoff of Marland, Oklahoma, and Tom Wyckoff of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and one sister Doris Wilkins of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 8, 2003 at the Jefferson Street Baptist Church will Pastor Alan Hunter officiating. Cremation has been effected.
