Robert Harold “Tig” Teegardin, of Eureka, died at Medicalodge of Eureka on Monday, December 17, 2007, at the age of 83.
He was born in Eureka on September 12, 1924, the son of Dorsey and Mary Anna (Jackson) Teegardin. He attended Eureka schools and graduated from Eureka High School with the class of 1943. After graduation he entered the United States Army and served his country with honor and dignity during World War II.
On February 7, 1948, Tig was united in marriage to Dorline Gray in Sedan, Kansas. They made their home in Eureka where he drove a truck for Jackson Brothers for approximately thirty years and for Tom Wilson for approximately ten years. He retired in 1986. Dorline preceded him in death on March 3, 1988.
Tig was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Eureka, V.F.W. Post #2712, and the Eureka Lions Club.
He is survived by one son, Gary Teegardin of Dodge City; one daughter, Beverly Welsh of Eureka; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Debra Thomas, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 20, 2007, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Cross of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may made to Christ Lutheran Church or Medicalodge of Eureka. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
