Robert Luther Sizemore, of Eureka, died at Greenwood County Hospital on Sunday, February 12, 2006, at the age of 77.
He was born in Greeley, Kansas on January 13, 1929, the son of Robert Oliver and Vona Birdean (Kelsey) Sizemore. He was raised in Greeley and graduated from Greeley High School.
After his schooling he entered the United States Army and served his country with honor and dignity during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, retiring in 1968. Robert then moved to Bloomington, Minnesota and worked in general maintenance until 1977, when he moved to Mound City, Kansas and began his career with Fundcraft Publishing. He transferred with his job to Byhalia, Mississippi and retired in 1994. In 1996 he moved to Eureka, to be closer to his family.
Robert is survived by one son, Raymond Sizemore of Navarre, Florida; two daughters, Donna Joles of Wichita; and Robin Himes of Eureka; six grandchildren; one brother, Albert L. Sizemore of Buffalo; and one sister, Emma May Hull of El Dorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Carol Beckford.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church and Reverend Diana Hill of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M., in Greeley-Walker Cemetery at Greeley, Kansas with military honors provided by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
