Robert Daryl “Bob” Scott, of Piedmont, died at the Greenwood County Hospital on Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at the age of 65.
He was born in Eureka on November 8, 1939, the son of Hobert and Marie (Rader) Scott. Bob was raised in Piedmont and graduated from Piedmont High School with the class of 1957. He then attended Kansas State University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corp, where he served his country with honor and dignity.
On September 20, 1959, Bob was united in marriage to Janice Ries in Napa, California. They made their home in Napa where he began working as a plumber and later becoming a master plumber. He then served as president and vice-president of several construction companies, and was project manager for the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant from 1976 to 1981. In 2004, he and Janice retired to their farm near Piedmont.
He was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church of Wichita, and the Napa Valley Masonic Lodge #93.
Bob is survived by his wife, Janice, of the home, one son, Dennis Scott and wife Phylis of Burlington, one daughter, Shelli Burke and husband Rod of Piedmont, five grandchildren, Clay Scott, Brandi Burke, Danielle Scott, Kyle Burke and Stephen Scott; one sister, Nadine Schoenhals of Piedmont. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Robert Jeffery Scott.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 13, 2005, at the Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Rackham of the Cornerstone Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Piedmont Cemetery.
