Robert Ealton Lozier, Sr., of Eureka, died on March 29, 2005 at Emporia Rehabilitation Center in Emporia, at the age of 87.
He was born on January 28, 1918, in rural Greenwood County, the son of Ernest and Lelia (Jones) Lozier. He was raised north of Eureka and attended rural Greenwood County schools, and graduated from Eureka High School.
On July 19, 1941, Bob was united in marriage to Dorothy Wygle. Shortly after their marriage, Robert entered the United States Army Air Force serving his country with honor and dignity during World War II. After he was discharged, he worked for Bush Motors Ford Garage until 1965. Later he started “Bob’s Auto,” which he owned and operated until his retirement in the 1980’s. Dorothy preceded him in death on October 15, 1998.
He is survived by one son, Robert Lozier, Jr. of Woodbridge, Virginia; two daughters, Linda Buster of Eureka; and Sheila Wilson of Overland Park; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, and three sisters.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 1, 2005 at Greenwood Cemetery with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Emporia Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
