Richard "Dick" Robison, of Virgil, KS died on Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, KS at the age of 93.
He was born on June 10, 1918, in Emporia, KS, the son of James Marshall and Grace Adeline (Tedrow) Robison. He graduated from Virgil High School. On July 14, 1941 he was united in marriage to Mary Irene Ditty. He served three years in the Armed Forces, and he was a veteran of World War II. He owned and operated an auto repair and service station in Virgil for 52 years before he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; three children: sons, Jim Robison and Sam Robison, and daughter Barbara Adams, all of rural Virgil; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Virgil Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Demas of the Virgil United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation has been effected.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Virgil United Methodist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
