Raymond S. Myers, of Eureka, died Monday, November 24, 2003, in Angels Camp, California at the age of 77.

He was born June 18, 1926, in Boise, Idaho to Otis T. and Dolly Mae (Dix) Myers Smith. He lived in Topeka until 1931 then moved to Stockton, California. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1944. After his schooling he worked for a bank and then the American Can Company before starting his career as a bus driver for the Stockton Transit Authority.

On August 8, 1953, Ray was united in marriage to Marie Teasley in Stockton, California. They made their home in Stockton until 1990, when they moved to Eureka.

He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 2, 1944.

Ray is survived by three sons, Raymond “Gene” Myers of Jackson, Tennessee, Michael Myers of Angels Camp, California and Jonathan Myers of Stockton, California; two daughters, Carol “Janie” Collins of Jackson, Tennessee, and Kathy Ray of Emporia, Kansas; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers and one grandson.

Memorial services for both Ray and Marie will be at 6:30 P.M., Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 2201 Hall Street Stockton, Ca.

A memorial has been established in his name to the World Wide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses and can be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 595 Eureka, Kansas 67045.
