Peggy Jane Johnson of Eureka, died on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 75.
She was born on September 22, 1946, in Beaumont, the daughter of Ralph Meryl and Hazel Orrel (Houghton) Johnson. She was raised in Beaumont and later Eureka, graduating from Eureka High School with the Class of 1964.
Peggy worked at Howard’s IGA, the Greeley Gas Company, and Ferguson Production in Eureka, and at Pioneer Balloon Company in El Dorado before her retirement. She enjoyed researching genealogy and loved caring for her cats.
She is survived by two brothers: Marion Sydney and wife, Joyce Johnson of Neal; and Douglas Michael Johnson of Andover; and one sister, Patty Jo and husband, Ernie Chiles of Jackson, Missouri; six nieces and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Elwin Olan Johnson, Sharon Shadrach Johnson, Roy Alvin Johnson, and Meritt Keith Johnson; an infant sister, Nancy Jean Johnson; one niece, and one nephew.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 12, 2021, at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Climax United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation has been effected.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Greenwood County Hospital Foundation.
