Pauline Birkholz, formerly of Eureka, died on Friday, June 1, 2007, at Osage Nursing Home in Osage City, at the age of 89.
She was born on February 16, 1918, in Erie, the daughter of Emil and Ila J. (Sisson) Passig. She was raised in Argonia, and graduated from Argonia High School. On September 11, 1937, she was united in marriage to Everett Birkholz. In 1939, they made their home in Eureka where they started the family farm. On holidays, and special occasions, Pauline worked at the jewelry store in town. Everett preceded her in death on August 26, 2004.
She was a member of HDU, and the Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn, and husband Ron Holland of Vassar; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Noland; one grandson, Larry Ray Birkholz, Jr., and wife Kelly, of Eureka; and two great-grandchildren, Chandler Brooke and Reese Birkholz both of Eureka. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Larry Ray Birkholz, Sr.; one brother, Dale Passig; and one sister, Pearline Robert.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 4, 2007 at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
