Pauline Bane of Eureka, died on July 16, 2011 at the Eureka Nursing Center at the age of 87.
Pauline was born on November 3, 1923 in Augusta, Kansas the daughter of Donald Ray and Gertrude (Boucher) Parks. She was raised in the Tonovay area. After her graduation she attended Business Preparatory College in Wichita and later worked for Beechcraft. On July 17, 1943 she was united in marriage to Glen Bane in Sioux Fall, S.D. She traveled with Glen’s job for the next 20 years. In 1967 they moved back to Eureka and opened a combination Park’s Oil Co. Gas Station /Bulk Plant and Restaurant. In 1970 she went to Emporia Technical College to get her LPN license. Pauline then went to work as an administrator for the Lydon Nursing Home and as a staff nurse. Later she worked for the Greenwood County Hospital and Medical Lodge until her retirement in 1998.
Pauline was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Terry Bane of Attica, Ks.; daughters, Christene Bohl of Eureka and Connie Sandburg of San Antonio, Tx; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Rex Parks of Eureka; and sister Helen Gell of Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and granddaughter Tammy Bohl.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Rhonda Almond officiating.
