Patsy Sue Williams-Hughes, of Hamilton, died at Wesley Medical Center on Sunday, August 31, 2003, at the age of 69.
She was born in Hickman, Kentucky on June 29, 1934, the daughter of Charles Hubbard and Mary Ellen (Young) Williams. Patsy was raised in Hickman and graduated from Hickman High School with the class of 1952.
On May 24, 1952, she was united in marriage to Warren C. Hughes in Hickman. They made their home in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Missouri before moving to Hamilton, Kansas in 1971. Patsy worked in Dr. Ciskey’s office as a receptionist for fourteen years before retiring.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of KoshKonong, Missouri.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Warren, of the home, four sons, Randall Hughes of Augusta, Jerry Hughes of Waverly, Terry Hughes of Windsor, South Carolina, and Warren L. Hughes of LeRoy, two daughters, Susan Johnson of Larned, and Penny Hughes-Macey of Hamilton, twenty-one grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 4, 2003, at the Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka, Kansas with Mr. Dean Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Janesville Cemetery, Hamilton, Kansas.
