Patricia Ann Province of Eureka, died on March 12, 2012, at the Eureka Nursing Center at the age of 76.
Pat was born on November 17, 1935 in Eureka, the daughter of Alva and Rose (Dunn) Duncan. She attended local schools and graduated from Tonovay High School. After her schooling, she married Harold L. Province in 1955. Pat was a homemaker and mother. In 1967, she and Harold bought several Sonic Drive Ins working together until 1974. In 1975, they opened B & J Carry Out. Pat and Harold owned restaurants in Eureka and Peabody. Then after retirement they ran the concession stand at Eureka Downs.
Pat is survived by her son, Monte Province of Oswego; daughter, Sharon Boughner of Eureka; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Violet Click of Eureka; Dorothy Curran of Costa Mesa, California; Pauline Hosler of El Dorado; Nancy Maskrid of Wichita; and Linda Sill of Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery with Mr. Jayme Koup officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Alzeheimer’s Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
