Patricia Jane “Pat” Corle of Howard, died on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 82.
She was born on December 22, 1940, at the Claremore Indian Hospital, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Joseph P. and Lucille V. (Ensley) Boulanger. She was proud of her Osage heritage and was part of the White Hair Band.
She was united in marriage to Joseph R. Corle at the Longton United Methodist Church on July 4, 1958. To this union two daughters were born; Barbara J. Corle on April 9, 1968 and Susan J. Corle (Livingston) on September 11, 1970. Pat and Joe were married for sixty years before Joe passed away on July 19, 2018. After they were married, Pat and Joe moved to Idaho and worked in the potato fields for a few years before they moved back to live in Moline, Kansas.
Pat had been baptized and was a member of the Elk Falls United Methodist Church in Elk Falls, Kansas. She had many hobbies which included reading, crocheting, listening to classic country music, attending concerts, and traveling with her best friend, Judy Nungesser. Pat also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and making bread to give away to friends and neighbors. Patricia was very proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed telling others about their accomplishments.
Through the years Pat worked many jobs. She worked at Fred’s IGA in Moline, at the Howard Current Citizen newspaper as a typesetter, and as a dispatcher for the Elk County Sheriff’s Office. Pat stayed busy in her spare time working as the site manager for Friendship Meals in Moline.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Corle of Howard; and Susan and husband, Tolbert Livingston of Emporia; three grandchildren: Aquisha, Malik and wife, Adrien, and Myles; and one brother, Phillip Boulanger of Brunswick, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three siblings: Wayne Boulanger, Evelyn (Boulanger) Laurie, and Edward Boulanger.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Elk Falls United Methodist Church, in Elk Falls, with Pastor Dena Allison officiating. Cremation has been effected. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Moline Cemetery.
