Pamela Collette Whipple, of Eureka, died at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka on Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the age of 51.
She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 2, 1952, the daughter of Clay and Kathryn (Baker) Cooper. She was raised in Independence, Missouri, and graduated from Van Horn High School with the class of 1970. She attended Longview Junior College and St. Luke’s School of Nursing.
On May 17, 1975, Pamela was united in marriage to Larry Whipple, in Independence, Missouri. They made their home first in Hamilton, then in Salina. In 1978 the couple moved to Eureka.
Pamela was a homemaker, a member of the Christian-Congregational Church, the CCWF church group and the Greenwood County Cancer Support Group.
She is survived by her husband, Larry of the home; her parents, Clay and Kathryn Cooper of Blue Springs, Missouri; three sisters, Patricia Kuchenbecker of Kansas City, Kansas, and Stacey Scott and Gina Michelle Nolan of Blue Springs, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at the Christian-Congregational Church on Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Bill Coburn officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name with the Greenwood County Cancer Support Group. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, which was in charge of service arrangements.
