Orville L. Shumake, died on March 14, 2010 at St. Lukes North Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 95.
He was born on July 29, 1914, in Oklahoma City, Ok the son of Joe and Maggie (Moore) Shumake.
He is survived by his loving second wife Iva Shumake of Kansas City, Mo., sister May Marie Dunning of Clinton, Mo, step-daughter Shirley Clark Burley, of Id., five grandchildren; Wayne Ward of Lebanon, Mo., Tommy Ward of Lansing, Ks., Roberta Benton of Deer Park, Tx., Dee Dee Charles of Bonner Springs, Ks. and Tammy Long of Kansas City, Mo.; eleven great-grandchildren and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren. Orville was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ray, Bill and Joe Howerton; sister Flory May; wife Faye Jackson Shumake and daughter Betty Jo Ward.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 19, 2010 at Piedmont Cemetery with Pastor Tony Pameticky officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Thursday at Koup Family Funeral Home.
