Olive M. Jones-Hardesty of Neal, Kansas, died on July 13, 2007 at Greenwood County Hospital at the age of 87.

She was born on June 5, 1920 in Potwin, Kansas the daughter of J.R. and Nellie (Richardson) Hamilton. She was raised in the Neal area and attended Neal High School. Olive owned the Snack Shack Café and Truck Stop on Hwy 54 in the early 50’s.
Later she worked as a C.N.A. for the nursing home. She was also a cook for the Tonovay High School so she could be near the kids and there for school activites. Olive liked being outdoors, digging in the dirt and planting flowers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and all the great-grandchildren. They loved to picked flowers and bring them to her. Olive also liked to spend time with her friends and getting together for an evening and visiting.

In 1938 Olive married Doyle O. Jones they were married for 33 years when Doyle died in 1971. On April 22, 1974 she married Glen Hardesty. Olive and Glen loved to square dance and doing crafts together.

She is survived by her sons, Marion Jones of Topeka, Kansas and Babe Jones of Toronto, Kansas; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Smith of Wichita, Kansas and Vera Lindamood of Clearwater, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and daughter Charlene Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Neal Cemetery.
