Norma Chantler
January 30, 1913 — November 18, 2002
Norma Chantler, of Santa Clara, California, died Monday, November 18, 2002, at Medicalodge of Eureka at the age of 89.
She was born January 30, 1913 near Climax to William F. and Florence (Nichols) Hayes. She was raised in the Climax area and attended schools there. In the early 1940’s she relocated to California and worked in the laundry at a hotel. On January 1, 1944 she was united in marriage to Walter F. Chantler at Washoe County, Nevada.
Survivors include two nephews, Larry and Danny Hayes, of Eureka, and one niece, Shirley Ann Mann of Whitewater.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday November 21, 2002 at Greenwood Cemetery with Mr. Chuck Hayes officiating.
