Norma Jean Baker, of Eureka, Kansas, died on May 29, 2005 at Medicalodge of Eureka at the age of 79.
She was born on December 20, 1925 in Reece, Kansas, the daughter of Louis and May Ellen (Smith) Evenson. She graduated from Reece High School. After her schooling, Norma moved to Wichita and worked for Boeing for a number of years before moving to Arkansas working for Campbell’s Soup.
She was united in marriage to Ted Baker in Wichita, Kansas. After they were married, they moved to Arkansas for a number of years before moving back to Eureka after retirement.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
She is survived by son, Lee Fick of Miami, Oklahoma; daughter, Gloria Meeker of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Dennis of the Christ Lutheran Church officiating.
