Nell Louise “Nellie” Tucker of Eureka, died on October 24, 2006, at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas, at the age of 83.
She was born on June 21, 1923, in Dewey, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ed and Ruth (Trowbridge) O’Neal. She was raised in Dewey, and graduated from Dewey High School with the class of 1942. In 1944, the family moved to Fredonia, and Nellie began working for the Ordnance Defense Plant in Parsons, Kansas. After World War II, Nellie lived in many different places including Bartlesville, Pawhuska, Wichita, Caney, El Dorado, and finally settled in Eureka.
On October 26, 1957 she was united in marriage to Thomas Tucker in Eureka, where they made their home.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four sisters; Lou Anna May of Dewey, Oklahoma; Jeannette Irene Brown of Conway, Arkansas; Jane Breech of Eureka; and Sue Butter of Eureka; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., October 28, 2006, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverend Diana Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Dewey Cemetery, in Dewey, Oklahoma.
