Nathan Allen Smalley, 27, of El Dorado, formerly of Eureka, died on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
Nathan was welcomed into this world on February 4, 1984 in Eureka, Kansas, the son of Curtis Arnold and Diana (Soule) Smalley Jr. Upon his birth, Nathan completed five generations on his mother’s side. Nathan was raised in Eureka by his mother and his step-dad Kevin Kelly. Nathan loved family and nature. Nathan graduated from Eureka Junior/Senior High School in 2003. Nathan later attended Butler Community College. Nathan was united in marriage to Samantha Tyner. To this union, one son was born Nathan Arnold Smalley. This union later ended in divorce. Nathan worked various jobs, mowing lawns, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and finally found his place with Skyy Drilling.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Diana Kelly-Sutton and husband Earl of Eureka, Curtis and Genevieve Smalley of Colorado; long term companion Bobbie Cree Myers; daughter Harmony Cree Smalley; brothers, Trevor Smalley of Eureka and Curtis Smalley of Valdosta, Ga.; sisters, La-Tisha Smalley and Allyson Smalley, both of Eureka and Natasha Smalley of Valdosta, Ga.; grandparents, Bill and Kay Soule of Eureka and Marilyn Smalley of Emporia; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Arnold Smalley and grandfather, Curtis Smalley, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Eureka Junior/Senior High School. Visitation will be from 6-8 Tuesday at the funeral home.
