Myrtle Leone Freeman, of Eureka, died at Medicalodge of Eureka on August 31, 2005, at the age of 102.

She was born in the Upper Fall River Community of Greenwood County on September 22, 1902, the daughter of George and Rachel (Wiggins) Osmundson. Myrtle was raised in the Upper Fall River area and attended Holverson School. After her schooling she worked on the family farm.

On September 10, 1925, she was united in marriage to William Ersel Freeman in Emporia, Kansas. They made their home in Greenwood County where they farmed. In 1940, the family moved to Eureka. In the mid 1960’s, Myrtle began cooking at Christian Hills Camp and retired after seventeen years of service.

Myrtle was a member of the Christian & Congregational Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Robert E. Freeman of Eureka, one daughter, Lois J. Ball of Eureka, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law Maxine Osmundson and Margaret Osmundson, and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 2, 2005, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverend Doctor Gilbert Daniel officiating. Interment will follow in Upper Fall River Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her name to the Christian & Congregational Church. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
