Milton “Milt” Taylor, of Eureka, died at the Greenwood County Hospital on Monday, June 4, 2007, at the age of 83.
He was born at Foss, Oklahoma, on February 25, 1924, the son of Milton Taylor, Sr. and Mabel (Kimberling) Taylor. He was raised in western Oklahoma and graduated from Cheyenne High School. After his schooling he entered in the United States Army and served his country with honor and dignity during World War II.
On May 16, 1947, Milton was united in marriage to Bonnie Shook in Fairview, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Chester, Oklahoma area where Milton and Bonnie farmed. After 5 years of farming Milton entered the ministry with the Assembly of God Church. He and Bonnie ministered churches in Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. They retired in the mid 1980’s, and moved to Eureka.
Milton was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Eureka and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of the home, one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Al Jackson of Eureka, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one half-brother, Bill Taylor of Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at the New Life Assembly of God, in Eureka, on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Mark Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Orion Cemetery near Chester, Oklahoma.
A memorial has been established in his name to the Milton Taylor Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be sent to the Koup Family Funeral Home which was in charge of funeral arrangements.
