Milton Carlyle Self, Jr. of Hamilton, formerly of Eureka, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his home in Hamilton, at the age of 48.
He was born on June 8, 1963, in Wichita, the son of Milton Carlyle and Patricia (Sanchez) Self. He was raised in Eureka and attended local schools. After his schooling he worked in the oil fields. Later Jr. worked for Can-Do Plastics and as a general handy-man in and around Eureka. On August 12, 1989, Jr. was united in marriage to Paula Dunn in Eureka. This marriage later ended in divorce.
He is survived by three children: Kelsey Self of Eureka; Adrion Self of Eureka; and Blake Self of Eureka; two step-children: Robert Winsor of Arizona; and Laura Winsor of Arizona; eight step-grandchildren; mother, Patricia Keyes of Eureka; and seven siblings: Bobby Self of El Dorado; Betty Jean Micheals of North Carolina; Bill Self of El Dorado; Peggy Wheeler of Eureka; Timothy Self of El Dorado; Pamela Pace of North Carolina; and Cindy Sanchez of New Albany. He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Joseph Self.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor Gary Boles of the Moline Community Fellowship officiating. Cremation has been effected. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Milton C. Self, Jr. Funeral Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
