Mildred L. Glenn of Eureka, died on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Greenwood County Hospital at the age of 89.
She was born on November 11, 1919 in Sterling, Kansas the daughter of Harvey and Laura (Livingston) Nearhood. She was raised in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School in 1938. After her schooling Mildred worked for the Newton Hospital. In 1953 she moved to a farm north of Severy and in 1993 she moved to Eureka. Mildred also worked for Boeing during the war movement during WWII. After the war she was a homemaker.
On May 1, 1940 she was united in marriage to Albert Byron Glenn in El Dorado, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1978.
She was a member of the Severy Baptist Church.
She is survived by three granddaughters; Laurie Juaire of Severy, Jenny Lanning and Amy Johnson both of Eureka, and three great-grandchildren, Denim Lanning, Byron Johnson and Gabyrael Johnson; one sister, Elenor Mark of Lyons, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Terry Nearland and daughter, Byra Juaire; three brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at South Lawn Cemetery, Severy, Kansas with Pastor Alan Hunter officiating.
