Melba Lorraine Clopton

Melba Lorraine Clopton of Eureka, died Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka at the age of 90.
She was born October 15, 1927, in Emporia, KS, the daughter of Martin B. and Leona (Kling) Bowers. She was raised in Emporia and attended local schools, graduating from Emporia High School. On December 6, 1947, Melba was united in marriage to George Keith Clopton in Emporia. To this union six children were born. The family made their home in Eureka, where Melba was a homemaker. Keith preceded her in death on October 24, 2010.
She was a member of the Christian & Congregational Church of Eureka.
Melba is survived by her children: Pamela Gordon of Wichita, KS; Larry Clopton of Eureka; Terry Clopton of Nixon, MO; Gary Clopton of Augusta, KS; Kerry Moore of Eureka; and Barbara Clopton of Eureka; 20 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; grandson Charles Bryson Dolziek; and one brother, Jerald Bowers.
Funeral services are set for 1:30 P.M., Friday, November 3, 2017, at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka, with Mr. Jayme Koup officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation hours are set from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
