Mason Francis Braman of rural Eureka, died on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at his home, at the age of 76.
He was born on October 2, 1942, in Eureka, the son of Maurice Mason and Dorothy Dixie (McHone) Braman. He was raised near Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School. He attended college until he suffered a basketball injury. He then enlisted in the United States Navy serving for over twenty years with honor and dignity. He achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After his discharge, he worked at a shipyard in Oregon, and later operated a landscaping business. On March 22, 1997, Mason was united in marriage to Florentina Moralina in Eureka. Mason later established Warchest Merchandising and bought the Tonovay Antique Mall in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Florentina of the home; two daughters, Annie and husband, Donald DeCambra of Tilamook, OR; and Benilda and husband, Jamie Montell of Littleton, CO; son, Joejet and wife, Rocelle Moralina of Eureka; and two grandchildren, Albus Jette and Jethro Zeb. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 25, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Eureka with Father Stephen Gronert officiating. Rosary recitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Blankinship Cemetery, Rosalia. Visitation hours are set from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to the Eureka Public Library.
