Mary Irene Robison
Mary Irene Robison of Virgil, died on June 13, 2012 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 90.
Mary was born on March 31, 1922 in Quincy, the daughter, of Pike and Edith (Schwintz) Ditty. She was raised in the Quincy/Virgil area and graduated from Virgil High School. On June 14, 1941 she married Richard “Dick” Robison in Wichita. While Dick was serving in World War 2, Mary lived with her sister in Wichita. After the war, they moved to Virgil and Mary worked as a bookkeeper and parts manager for Dick’s garage.
She was a member of the Virgil United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors and the United Methodist Church Women’s group.
Mary is survived by her sons, Jim Robison and Sam Robison and her daughter Barbara Adams and husband David all of Virgil; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beverly Ditty of Virgil. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, and four brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Virgil Cemetery with Pastor Mark Demas of the Virgil United Methodist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Virgil United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
