Mary Ann Milner of Eureka, formerly of Hamilton, died on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka, at the age of 90.
She was born on May 7, 1932, in Wakenda, Missouri, the daughter of Willis Hezekiah and Bernice (Lewis) Weaver. She was raised in Eureka, and El Dorado, attending local schools. On June 15, 1949, Mary was united in marriage to Leo Milner in El Dorado. They made their home at Hamilton. To this union, seven children were born. Mary worked as a cook at the Hamilton Elementary School and later became a secretary there. She later worked in the Greenwood County Clerk’s office for Clerk Marilyn Wilson for thirty years, retiring in the early 2000s. She and Leo later retired to Toronto. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2006.
Mary was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Vic Milner of Hamilton; Tony and wife, Paula Milner of Emporia; Melvin Milner of Toronto; and Ted Milner of Yates Center; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marge Tracy of Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; three children: Linda Kay Linden, Christine Marie Milner, and James Willis Milner; and three brothers, Willis Earl Weaver, Ronald Dean Weaver, and Clifford Weaver.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 6, 2023, at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor John Craighead of Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Janesville Cemetery, Hamilton. The family requests casual dress. Visitation hours are set from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
