Mary Josephine Jamison, of Claremore, Oklahoma, former Eureka resident, died at the Claremore Nursing Home on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at the age of 83.

She was born in Eureka on September 21, 1922, the daughter of Robert and Clara (Longwell) Call. She was raised in Eureka and attended area schools. After her schooling she worked on the family farm.

In 1940, Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth Dawson in Toronto. They made their home in Toronto where the couple owned and operated a bakery. In the mid 1940’s, they moved to Augusta. In 1963, Kenneth was killed in an automobile accident and Mary moved to Hutchinson.

In 1965, Mary was united in marriage to Gerald Jamison in Hutchinson. Gerald preceded her in death on October 15, 1986. She then moved back to Eureka and then to Hamilton. In the mid 1990’s, she returned to Hutchinson for a few years before moving to Claremore in 1999.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church of Augusta.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Dawson of Rose Bud, Arkansas, and Keith Dawson of Claremore, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside services and interment were held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 17, 2005, at Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating.
