Marvin Lee “Sonny” French
Marvin Lee “Sonny” French of Eureka, died on Thursday, March 14th 2013, at the age of 89.
He was born to Theodore and Theresa (Groom) French in Hamilton, Kansas. Marvin served in the United States Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945 as a member of the Jolly Rogers 90th Bomb Group “H”.
He is survived by his five children, Joseph, Leslie, Patrick, Jeff and Jon; brothers, Willard, and Ted French; sisters, Dorothy Uhl and Harriett Shumard; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife of 65 years, Marie; brothers, Lyle and Herbert “Bud”; and sisters, Helen Keller, Margaret Love, and Eva Jean Boswell.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Pastor Nancy Mitchell of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at Janesville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
