Martha Edna Mann of Eureka, died on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Greenwood County Hospital at the age of 93.

She was born on June 17, 1917, in Madison, the daughter of Clarence Leon and Sarah Alice (Cunningham) Groat. Edna attended local schools in rural Greenwood County. After her schooling she worked on the family farm. Edna lived all her life within a 30 mile area around Eureka. She cooked at the Tonovay and Eureka schools for 22 years and worked as a janitor for 4 more years.

On April 22, 1936, she was united in marriage to Clyde Edward Mann in Eureka. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1998.

Edna was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Clyde Edward “Ed” Mann, Jr. and wife, Shirley of Whitewater; and Louis Leon Mann, Sr. and wife, Betty of Eureka; one brother, Clarence “Pete” Groat of Eureka; one sister, Ilene Cassin of Topeka; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, one grandson, and one grandson-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Reverend Diana Hill of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation hours will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
