Marjorie Ann Williams

Marjorie Ann Williams, formerly of Reece, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Homestead of Augusta, at the age of 85.
She was born on April 10, 1933, in Eureka, the daughter of Thomas Eugene and Grace M. (Kerr) Hughes. She graduated from Eureka High School with the Class of 1951. On November 25, 1953, Marjorie was united in marriage to William Lawrence “Bill” Williams of Neal. They made their home in Wichita. To this union, two children were born.
Marjorie worked a short time in a furniture store in Wichita prior to the family moving to Reece to start a farm. She will be remembered as a lover of soap operas, a great cook, an enthusiastic reader, and as a simple, farm wife. She will be missed by many close friends and family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill of 65 years; children, Janet Williams of Eureka; and Tom and wife, Susan Williams of El Dorado; four grandchildren: Katie and husband, Lamont Villa of Westminster, Colorado; Sara Williams and husband, Pal of El Dorado; Marcus and wife, Denelle Williams of Augusta; and Molly and husband, Tyler McCune of El Dorado; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Opal Weitzel, Nadine Campbell, and Dorothy Stanley; one brother, Clyde Hughes; and an infant grandson, Thomas Williams, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka, with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating. Interment will follow at Reece Cemetery.
