Margaret Dorothy Hale of Eureka, died on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, at the age of 100.
Margaret was born September 30, 1919, in Tonovay, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Paulina (Denner) Bobbitt. She was raised in the Tonovay area and graduated from Tonovay High School. On August 19, 1938, she was united in marriage to Maurice Edwin Hale in Yates Center. They moved to Washington state, before returning to Eureka in 1946. To this union, four children were born. Margaret was a stay-at-home mom and helped on the farm. In 1972, the family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, returning to Yates Center in 1979. In 1998, Margaret moved to Eureka where she retired. Maurice preceded her in death on July 2, 1986.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Hale of Overland Park, Kansas; Marilyn Bogle of Eureka; and Martha Carlton of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and thirty-one great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice; a son, Delbert Hale; three sisters; four brothers; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
